Rogue espresso was developed with Andrew Tolley of Taylor Street Baristas who is uncompromising in his pursuit of flawless coffee. Taylor Street enjoy Rogue as their house espresso to produce a precise extraction. Rogue's components change to depict the peak flavour but the cup profile is perfectly balance and sweet. Rogue has built a following from professional baristas and home espresso enthusiasts alike. By name and by nature, Rogue is blend designed to change but taking an original approach as it is not a traditional "seasonal" espresso, nor do we intend it to be conventional in concept either. The skilled barista will manipulate dose and water volume, pressure, temperature and time to bring the desired taste to the fore. Creating different profiles by adjusting the shots to produce a "graphic equalizer" of flavour profiles, allows each of the coffee origins to sing out. Rogue is centred round coffees exclusive to Union. These are exceptional coffees and sourced as result of our direct trading model that is quality-first but benefits everyone participating in this sustainable supply chain.
Our current recipe for Rogue is created from a distinct lot selected from Maraba, Rwanda. We created a special roast profile to accentuate the syrupy sweetness produced for a restricted espresso shot.
