A wonderful vibrant zesty East African coffee. Citrus notes of limes are underscored by intriguing hints of gooseberry and greengages.

The Chisoba farm is in the Kaleya Valley, on a tributary of the Kafue River in Zambia’s southern province and situated at an altitude of more than 4,000ft . The farm produces beef and dairy, and only began farming coffee in the early 1990's and today has up to 1,000 people working at the harvest’s peak.
No chemical fertilisers are used in the production of the coffee trees, only organic material so as to keep the soil as natural and fertile as possible. Once the coffee is ripe, it is hand-picked and hand-sorted before being washed with clear, spring water at the farm’s own wet mill.
The farm’s management is aware of the social issues and working conditions for farm workers and has established four committees to oversee workers issues: • Housing • Social • Neighbourhood Watch • Domestic The farm has a comprehensive HIV/AIDS Programme which permanent workers and their spouses can join. This is important in a country with a very high HIV/AIDS rate per head of population. An on site clinic provides free medical treatment to workers and dependents and dispenses free condoms. There is also a peer educator to inform workers about HIV.
Zambia is a poor nation and every effort is made by the Chisoba owners to train and improve the standard of living for employees. In total, there are 78 full time workers on coffee, all of whom are provided with housing and land to farm maize and given inputs on credit for fertiliser on their own plots, as well as the use of oxen. Temporary Workers are provided with meals every day, on site. The farm management also recognises the importance of education by providing school loans for worker’s children.
The Chisoba farm is also involved in the management of the Chinfunshi Chimpanze Orphanage, a rehabilitation centre for endangered species of primate.
