Our espresso collection harks back to the traditional Italian style but with the modernity of a full dark roast. By combining the skills we teach you with our multi-layered approach to blending, you'll deliver an outstanding crema and body for optimum enjoyment, everytime.

Our espresso coffees are all available to business customers wholebean, in 1Kg bags. For convenience, and to save expense on an additional grinder, our Decaf Espresso is also available pre-ground, in 125g sachets.

Revelation

Our classic espresso blend which defines the Union Hand-Roasted experience. This coffee is exceptionally well suited to Cappuccinos and Caffé Lattes because of its depth, boldness and complexity. The customer is first greeted by a rich red fruit tone with a pleasing zesty sparkle which changes as the coffee passes over the palate to a smoky-caramel and dark chocolate finish. Revelation has been used by a number of the UK’s most prominent chefs and restaurateurs and has gained a strong following among pure Espresso drinkers.

Bright Note

Sourced from Brazil and Guatemala, the real character here is generated by combining raw coffees that have been prepared using different farming methods to create a variety of flavour tones. Roasted lighter than Revelation, the lower temperatures reached mean a more pronounced fruity tone is present in this coffee, while hazelnut, vanilla and molasses notes are all notably present in the finish.

Organic Natural Spirit

A blend with real character and style which sits between Revelation and Bright Note. Washed coffees from Central and South American, and East Africa, are combined to deliver a very clean fruity first note that subsequently settles – concluding with a long, slightly nutty, and rounded caramel finish. Certified Fairtrade and Organic

Recommended:
Despite all our coffees being sourced directly, ethically and sustainably, not all can carry the Fairtrade and Organic badges. We have recognised this at Union Hand-Roasted and so offer this outstanding blend for customers who require their coffee selection to carry full, independent certification. Yet it also works well for those who like their espresso medium, vivacious and fruity.

Foundation

A 'no holds barred' 100% Arabica blend echoing the dark, sweet roasts of Southern Italy and Sicily. Indonesia and India coffees create give the cup a full body, while selected Central Americas provide a delicate acidity and balance. A deep roast delivers an intense espresso experience.

Recommended:
If you are seeking to deliver espresso, cappuccino and latte with real attitude and weight. Deeper and darker than Revelation still, this blend’s intense roast also makes it highly suitable for automatic, “bean to cup” machine environments.

Decaf Espresso

We value our decaffeinated customers as much as those who enjoy our regular selection. Union Hand-Roasted Decaf Espresso – conveniently portioned in pre-ground sachets – delivers a rich, full bodied and intense shot. The subtlest hint of gentle citrus greets you, while herbal chocolate tones dominate the finish.

Unlike most decaffeinated coffees available, we select, assess and source the beans we feel are most appropriate for decaffeination – based on their characteristics, body and acidity – and choose the process best for flavour retention. Our preferred method is the Natural Process. Sub-cooled, liquid carbon dioxide is used to gently remove the caffeine, leaving no astringent after tasting and retaining as much of the coffee’s qualities as possible.

The resulting blend is a cup full of depth and character. At Union Hand-Roasted, 'no caffeine' definitely does not mean 'no flavour'.
