Three ways to make cold brew coffee

When we say “coffee”, what do you think of? Smooth flat whites, bold espresso or your daily cup of filter may come to mind. But let’s think outside the box and maybe give another box a go instead!

Let us introduce our Cold Brew Concentrate. One box, 40 servings inside, and ready to use whenever you feel. Our Cold Brew Concentrate can be used as a smooth base to a classic cold brew or a tasty ingredient in something a little punchier.

It's made using just two ingredients, speciality single origin Timana coffee from Colombia and filtered water, our Cold Brew Concentrate is expertly roasted, ground and cold brewed at double strength for 24 hours. The result is a sweet and consistent cold brew with notes of cola and caramel.

Let us show you three delicious ways to use Cold Brew Concentrate so you can shake up your coffee love. Let’s do coffee differently!

COld Brew Concentrate

Cold brew

We had to start with the classic. Short and sweet this coffee is simple to make and very easy to enjoy!

What you’ll need

  • 75ml Cold Brew Concentrate
  • 75ml Filtered water or milk/milk alternative
  • Good handful of ice

Method

  1. Fill a glass with ice
  2. Pour 75ml of Cold Brew Concentrate over the ice
  3. Pour 75ml of water or milk/milk alternative over the top
  4. Give it a stir and enjoy

Cold brew, it’s that simple. We recommend 75ml but enjoy it any size you like, we just suggest a 1:1 ratio of Cold Brew Concentrate to water or milk.

Cold Brew & Cynar Negroni

Cold Brew & Cynar Negroni

Specially created by one of our Unionistas, it’s the perfect pick on balmy summer nights or a cosy night in: the Cold Brew & Cynar Negroni.

Using the ingredients of a classic Negroni, we’ve added our spin with Cold Brew Concentrate and opted for Cynar. Cynar (pronounced Cheenar) is a herbaceous Italian bitter liqueur which takes its name from its main ingredient – artichoke! The flavour is beautifully balanced out against the complex vermouth and the sweetness of the cold brew.

What you’ll need

  • 50ml Union Cold Brew Concentrate
  • 50ml Gin (we used Boodles British Gin)
  • 50ml Cynar (or Campari)
  • 50ml Antica Formula (or other sweet vermouth)
  • Ice
  • 1 orange
  • Old Fashioned glass

Method

  1. Add all the ingredients into a mixing glass with ice and stir
  2. Pop an ice cube in an Old Fashioned glass and strain your mixture over the top of it
  3. Garnish with orange peel
