ARE YOU A TOP TASTER?

There are hundreds of tastes and aromas present in coffee naturally. Our #FLAVOURCHALLENGE splits these into four distinct flavour groups to help characterisation. Your challenge is to taste the four coffees on our stand and work out which coffee fits which flavour from the four below.

chocolate and caramel flavours

CHOCOLATE AND CARAMEL
Brought out by the roasting process – caramelisation happens towards the end of the roast. Generally the darker the roast, the more dominant chocolate and caramel flavours are.

nuts and spice flavours

NUTS AND SPICE
The aroma of sweet spices such as cloves, cinnamon and allspice. Flavour of toasted almonds and macadamia. Often typical of Brazil coffees and Bourbon variety.

fruit flavours

FRUIT
Many coffees have fruity notes, not surprising considering that coffee beans are seeds of a fruit. Naturally processed coffees are often fruity as the method enables more of the sugars in the fruit are absorbed in the beans.

citrus and floral flavours

CITRUS AND FLORAL
Coffees in this category have zesty citrus flavours and the scent of flowers including honeysuckle, jasmin, dandelion and nettles. Often prominent in washed coffees, the traditional processing method in Ethiopia.

INTRODUCING UNION BREW LAB COLD BREW COFFEE

We're proud to announce at this year's London Coffee Festival our refreshing new cold-brewed coffee - a new way to enjoy our direct-trade, speciality coffee. It contains no sugar, dairy or additives and is available in bottles.

Drink it neat or add a splash of milk. Swig it straight from the bottle, or pour it over ice. On early morning commutes and lingering lunch breaks, for picnics in the park, or road trips up the coast. Mix with ginger ale for an alcohol-free highball, or add a measure of gin for a caffeinated cocktail.

Available to taste, for the first time, on our LCF stand.

AVAILABLE TO TASTE

These are the coffees available to try on our stand. Several of them are new arrivals and are available for the first time at our stand.
